Adronitis, Exulansis, and Zenosyne are names for emotions you’ve likely experienced but never had the words to describe. These poetic terms come from The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows by John Koenig, a work that elegantly gives voice to the intricate and often unspoken depths of human feeling.
Adronitis is the frustration that arises from realizing how much time it takes to truly get to know someone on a deeper level, wishing the process could move faster. Exulansis refers to the disheartening feeling when you give up trying to share a meaningful experience because others are unable to understand or relate to it. Zenosyne captures the bittersweet sensation that time seems to accelerate as you grow older, leaving you marveling at how quickly life passes by.

I chose to design around these emotions because each of it reflects profound, universal experiences that often go unnoticed or unarticulated. By giving form to these emotions, I hope to create a space where others can recognize, connect with, and find beauty in the shared complexity of being human.
